Jewel Crest Mahim

The name Mahim was derived from the historical Mahikavati which means "miraculous" in Sanskrit. Some other ancient names for the area are Mahimawati, Maijim, or Mejambu. Mahim was a part of 7 islands of Mumbai. It plays a link between Swami Vivekanand Road and L.J Road which connects the daily commuters to several parts of the city. Mahim in South Mumbai is adjacent to Mahim railway station which is on the Western Railway line. Mahim houses many holy places like temples, churches, mosques. Mahim also houses several educational institutions like Bombay Scottish School, Canossa Convent High School, D. G. Ruparel College of Arts, Science-Commerce, and St. Xavier's Technical Institute. The famous Mahim Bay is a part of the Arabian Sea in Mumbai and its well-known tourist spot.
